Police say an alleged robber shot and killed over the weekend used a toy handgun and held up the same convenience store twice in three days. Authorities think 23-year-old Scott Demars also robbed three other stores last week. Demars died Sunday after police shot him when he ran from the Valley Market on Denslowe Drive to a nearby residential neighborhood. Reno police say Demars raised a realistic-looking toy gun before officers opened fire. It was the second time in 12 days that Reno police shot a man allegedly armed with a replica pistol. Police say 44-year-old Charles James Bishop is recovering from wounds he got Oct. 28 at a downtown motel. Police say Bishop aimed a toy gun with a red laser sight before two officers opened fire. ------ Information from: Reno Gazette-Journal, http://www.rgj.com (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
