Arash Mosaleh Channel 2 News Northern Nevada Medical Center is hosting a health fair for the general public on Nov. 5 from 7:30 am - 12 pm.
Seasonal flu and pneumonia shots will be available, according to an NNMC spokeswoman. Flu shots will be $28, and pneumonia shots will be $50, but both are free with Medicare Part B.
A variety of screening tests will be offered. They include:
- HDL/LDL ratio and profiles with computerized report on 14 blood chemistry levels - $25
- Stroke Risk - Carotid artery screening program followed by carotid ultrasound if needed - $40
- EKG-- for electrical activity of the heart and overall heart function - $35
- Peripheral Artery Disease Identification - Ankle brachial index (ABI) screening program followed by complimentary ABI test if needed
- Blood pressure and body fat screenings - Complimentary from NNMC
- Memory and depression screenings - Complimentary from Senior Bridges NNMC
- Lipid profile including cholesterol, triglycerides and HDL/LDL ratio - $20
- Lipid profile with blood chemistry panel including cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL/LDL ratio and profiles with computerized report on 14 blood chemistry levels - $25
- Thyroid screening (TSH) for an overactive or underactive thyroid gland - $40
- Thyroid panel including TSH and free T4 - $75
- Hemoglobin A1C (glycosylated hemoglobin), routine dietary screening for diabetics - $30
- ABO/RH (Blood typing) - $20
- Complete blood count (CBC), indicating viral/bacterial presence and red/white blood cell counts - $15
- PSA prostate cancer testing - $35
