Nevada is about to celebrate 145 years of statehood. Since the 1920’s the state’s anthem has been sung by students statewide: Home Means Nevada.
This year local musician Michale Eardley has modernized it into a slower more melodic version. And it’s selling worldwide. “Its exciting to me to have sold hundreds of copies of it,” Eardley says. “Most of those were in Nevada but some are to people as far away as Australia. It means that there are still music buyers out there and that they appreciate something unique.”Questions include 'What’s the name of the island in Pyramid Lake?' and 'What does the word Nevada mean?' But he warns there are also some tough ones.
And don’t forget - the big parade on Saturday morning in Carson City.Michael Eardley's version of "Home Means Nevada" is available for download on a variety of Internet sites including; iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, eMusic, LaLa and Shockhound.
