Thousands Count Down to Burning Man

Burning Man isn't for another two weeks but burners are gearing up. They're buying things like costumes to everything basic like tickets.

The Melting Pot World Emporium is the only place in Reno to get tickets and they are selling like crazy. "We sold about 300 already and we expect to sell another 300 before it starts," says Monique Baron.

"We have the tickets that we don't make anything on, but it helps get people in the door. And then we cater to everything else they could possibly need: fashions, masks, goggles and bandanas for dealing with the sand and the dust."

In fact, the Melting Pot is even making it's own line of fur fashions this year. Monique says the fur skirt and bra sets are like the pencil skirt of fashion for burning man - they never go out of style.

So sales during Burning Man are better than Christmas in the store. And they are looking forward to all the burners coming into down over the next few weeks.

Burning Man 2009 starts August 31st and runs through September 7th in the Black Rock desert.
