A bit of Burning Man is on fire in downtown Reno, but don't panic, it's supposed to be.
‘The Celtic Forest' is made up of giant metal sculptures that light up with flames. It was originally designed for the vastness of the Black Rock Desert, but placing them in Reno puts them in a new context. "It's amazing to see the pieces with the buildings as boundaries here after the vastness of Burning Man. I'm proud to know it stands up to the building the book has power," says lead artist Laura Kimpton.
It took four main artists and a team of 60 people to build the sculptures.
‘The Celtic Forest' exhibit opens Friday night with a reception at the open lot at Sierra Street and Island Avenue in Sparks.
