Mostly cloudy skies today with temperatures in the 30s as you head out the door, and highs this afternoon will be in the mid to upper 50s with light winds.
Showers will move into our southern Sierra tonight, spreading north on Wednesday with rain and snow for the Lake Tahoe basin. Snow levels start out high, above 8,000'.
Rain spreads into our valleys by Thursday with heavy Sierra snow possible above 7,000' making travel difficult.
The Sierra could see another 1-3' of snow with the heaviest amounts to our south. A few leftover scattered showers for the weekend with cooler highs in the 40s.
Travel will be difficult in the Sierra Wednesday through Friday with chain controls likely.
